Attendance & Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please notify both the school and your child’s bus driver as soon as possible.
If no one is available to take your call, please leave a message on the school’s voicemail.
Absences and late arrivals may be reported on the morning of the absence or delay. When leaving a voicemail message, please include your child’s name, grade level, the date of your call, and the number of days your child is expected to be absent.
Students who need to leave school during the day must provide a note from a parent or guardian explaining the reason for their early departure. If a note is not provided, the school will contact the parent or guardian to obtain confirmation. If the school is unable to reach a parent or guardian, the student will not be permitted to leave the school grounds.

Information about transportation services in your area is available on the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) website at www.ecolefrancophone.com, on your school’s website, or through the French-language broadcasts of CBC/Radio-Canada Saskatchewan. Transportation updates are shared as soon as the school division receives information from transportation providers regarding delays, cancellations, or service changes.

The school administration will also keep families informed of any updates or decisions that may affect school operations.

Allergies
Does your child have allergies?
The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) encourages parents and guardians to inform the school of any food allergies that may affect their child. Any known or newly identified food allergy should be reported to the school as soon as possible. When registering your child, please take a moment to identify any allergies or severe sensitivities they may have.
Students with severe allergies should carry their auto-injector with them at all times. Auto-injectors should not be stored in an office or locker. If a child is too young to carry their auto-injector independently, the teacher or staff member responsible for the student must ensure that it is readily accessible at all times.
Back to School
Heading back to school is an exciting time for students and families. Whether your child is starting school for the first time or returning after the holidays, we have helpful tips and resources to help your family prepare for a successful school year.
- Learn the basic safety rules for managing your allergy at school.
- Never share food with others.
- Only eat foods that have been approved by your parent or guardian, or that were prepared at home.
- Do not share utensils, water bottles, cups, or straws.
- Always read food labels carefully and avoid foods with precautionary statements such as “may contain,” as they may not be safe for you to eat.
- Make sure others are aware of your allergy and know where you keep your auto-injector.
- Always carry at least one epinephrine auto-injector with you. You never know when you may need it.
- Wear a MedicAlert® identification bracelet or necklace (www.medicalert.ca).
- Wash your hands before and after eating.
- If you are allergic to insect stings, avoid wearing bright colours or using scented products.
- If you do not feel well or think you are having an allergic reaction, tell an adult immediately.
- If you are being bullied or excluded because of your allergy, talk to a trusted adult.
- Familiarize yourself with the school’s policies and procedures.
- Complete and submit all required school forms and documentation.
- Discuss your child’s allergy with school administrators and review emergency procedures with staff.
- Take the time to meet your child’s teacher(s) and discuss any important health information.
- Build a positive relationship with school staff and maintain open communication.
- Ensure your child has safe snacks available in case of last-minute classroom celebrations or special events.
- Speak with cafeteria or food service staff to learn about food preparation practices and allergy management procedures at the school.
- Encourage your child to speak up if they ever feel excluded, bullied, or uncomfortable at school because of their food allergy.
